hw-module switch
To configure the port speed on the 10-Gigabit Ethernet slots on a C3KX-NM-10GT network module, use
the hw-module switch global configuration command. To return to the default speed (10 Gigabit
Ethernet), use the no form of this command.
hw-module switch switch-number port-group group-number select gigabitethernet
no hw-module switch switch-number port-group group-number select gigabitethernet

Defaults The port speed is 10 Gb/s.

Usage Guidelines The network module ports support either 1 Gb/s or 10 Gb/s speeds. 10 Mb/s and 100 Mb/s speeds are
not supported on the module.
You can verify your settings by entering the show hw-module switch EXEC command.
Examples This example sets the port speed for the port labeled Te1/ G i 2 to 1 Gigabit per second:
Switch(config)# hw-module switch 1 port-group 1 select gigabitethernet
This example sets the port speed for the port labeled Te1/ G i 2 to 10 Gigabits per second:
Switch(config)# no hw-module switch 1 port-group 1 select gigabitethernet
Related Commands
switch-number (Optional) On stacking-capable switches, specifies the switch number,
which is the stack member number. If the switch is a standalone switch, the
switch number is 1. If the switch is in a stack, the range is 1 to 9, depending
on the switch member numbers in the stack.
On nonstacking switches, the switch number is always 1.
port-group
group-number
Specifies the port being configured. The choice is 1 or 2.
• Port group 1 is the port labeled Te1/Gi2.
• Port group 2 is the port labeled Te2/Gi4.
select gigabitethernet Sets the port speed at 1 Gigabit per second (Gb/s). The no form of the
command sets the speed at 10 Gb/s.
