Message: PLS Weak
Signal
Parameter value: ***
The sensor may be faulty.
The sensor cannot detect a signal
that can be measured.
• Remove bandages or rings that
may obstruct the signal.
• Reapply the sensor.
• Observe the waveform on the
screen. If you suspect a faulty
sensor, replace it.

Message: PLS Motion
Parameter value: ***
The monitor has detected motion
artifacts in the signal. The cause
can be one of the following:
The patient is moving
The patient is coughing
Hemodynamic interference
Hypothermia
Vascular compromises to the
extremity
• Move sensor to another location.
• Observe the resulting waveform
on the screen.

Message: PLS No
measurement
Parameter value: ***
The monitor has been unable to
measure the parameter for the last
30 seconds.
• Calm the patient.
• Check the sensor placement.

Regulate Error
Message: PLS
Regulate Error
Parameter value: ***
The monitor detects an excessive
amount of ambient light giving low
amplitude and inaccurate readings
as a result. The possible sources of
excessive light are:
Surgical or bilirubin lamp
Fluorescent lights
Infrared heating lamps
Sunlight
• Cover the sensor with an opaque
material such as a towel.
