GRIPPER TIME TO OPEN: The “Gripper Time to Open”
parameter controls how long the Grippers will stay open to
drop the End Butts. (Illustration 70) This parameter is set
in milliseconds. To give the End Butts more time to drop
off the grippers, increase the “Gripper Time to Open”
setting.
GRIPPER TIME TO CLOSE: The “Gripper Time to Close”
parameter controls how long the Grippers will compress
into the product, before the Grippers actually close to
“Grip” the product. (Illustration 71) This parameter is set in
milliseconds. To compress farther into the product to
increase the “Grip,” increase the setting.
GRIP ADVANCE OFFSET: The “Grip Advance Offset”
parameter adjusts how far the Grippers travel after they
“grip” the product. (Illustration 72) Use this parameter to
eliminate any gap between the start of the loaves and the
edge of the Shear Bar. The “Grip Advance Offset”
parameter can be set from - 50.80mm (-2.0 inches) to
+50.80mm (+2.0 inches).
To set this parameter, load product into the machine, but
do not start the product feed. Allow the Grippers to grip
the product and move loaves to the “ready” position. Look
through the window in the left side guard and estimate the
distance between the end of the product and the edge of
the Shear Bar. Enter this distance in the “Grip Advance
Offset” parameter. Any gap or overhang between the end
of the product and the Shear Bar will make the “Start Butt
Length” ineffective.
