XS5-1 Digital Input Module: The Loaf Gate is
operated by a 3-position dual chamber air
cylinder. (Illustration 150) The XS5-1 Module
receives Input Signals from the Loaf Gate
Proximity Switches. These Proximities signal
the position of the Loaf Gate. The Proximities
are mounted at each end of the 2 Air Cylinders
that operate the Loaf Gate. A magnetic piston
activates the proximities as it shifts from one
end of each air cylinder to the other. The XS5
Gateway Module sends the position information
to the Computer over the Profibus Cable. There
are 4 LED’s on the face of the Module that light
up to indicate the position of the Loaf Gate. The
SQ15 and SQ16 Loaf Gate Proximities, plug
into Port 2 and Port 1 of the X1 Connector. The
SQ18 and SQ19 Loaf Gate proximities plug into
Port 2 and Port 1 of the X2 Connector.
SQ15 Loaf Gate “Feed/Butt Drop”

Loaf Gate is in the “Feed” or “Butt Drop”
position, LED “0” is lit. (Illustration 151)
