To access the Storage Encryption page, on the Security page, click the Storage tab (see
Figure 191).
Figure 191: Storage Encryption page
Use the Storage Encryption page to perform the following tasks:
● Enable Storage Encryption and specify the encryption type (see "Enable Storage
Encryption" on page 310).
● Monitor initial storage encryption process (see "Monitor Initial Encryption" on page 311).
Enable Storage Encryption
To enable the Storage Encryption:
1. select a encryption type “AES” or “Fujitsu” from the pull down list
● AES: Advanced Encryption Standard (AES: Standard encryption used for infor-
mation processing by the US federal government)" is a standardized encryption
method. The ETERNUS CS800 adopt the AES 128-bit encryption.
● Fujitsu: "Fujitsu" is an encryption method which uses a Fujitsu proprietary
algorithm. Compared to AES, its practical security level is almost equal while it
allows faster processing than AES.
2. Click Enable.
V
CAUTION!
Once encrypted, date on the storage array cannot be changed to non-encrypted
data.
