Field-Replaceable Units in EX4550 Switches
Field-replaceable units (FRUs) are components that you can replace at your site. The
FRUs in EX4550 switches are hot-removable and hot-insertable: You can remove and
replace them without powering off the switch. EX4550 switches support the following
FRUs:
•
Power supplies
•
Fan modules
•
Expansion modules
•
Virtual Chassis module
•
Transceivers
NOTE: The EX4550-32F switch model ships with one power supply (AC or
DC) and threefanmodules preinstalled and theEX4550-32F-S switchmodel
is shipped without any power supply or fan modules preinstalled; you must
order them separately. The optional modules, the Virtual Chassis cable, the
Virtual Chassis cable connector retainers, and transceivers are not part of
the EX4550 switch shipping configuration. If you want to purchase any of
these components, power supplies, or fan modules for your switch, you must
order them separately.
NOTE: If you have a Juniper J-Care service contract, register any addition,
change, or upgrade of hardware components at
https://www.juniper.net/customers/csc/management/updateinstallbase.jsp .
Failure to do so can result in significant delays if you need replacement parts.
This note applies if you change the type of power supply or add a new type
of expansion module. It does not apply if you replace these components with
the same type of component.
