4.14.4 USING THE TLBO FUNCTION
The TLBO function is used to set the transmit line buildout in feet or in dB.
There are eight available TLBO settings: 0x00, 0x01, 0x02, 0x03, 0x04, 0x05, 0x06, and 0x07. Only
the 0x00 option is used in the M-DACS. To display and change the current TLBO setting, proceed as
follows:
1. Use the GROUP switch to display the INTF group.
2. Press down on the SET/NEXT switch to display TLBO.
3. Press up once on the SET/NEXT switch. The display now shows 0x00, which is the first of
eight available TLBO settings.
4. Press down on the SET/NEXT switch additional times to see the other available TLBO
settings.
The green part of the ON/OFF indicator lights when the current TLBO setting is
being displayed. If any other TLBO setting is displayed, the red part of the
ON/OFF indicator lights.
5. To change the current TLBO setting, advance the display to the desired setting and press up
twice on the SET/NEXT switch.
After the first press, the green part of the ON/OFF indicator flashes, meaning that
a change is about to be made. After the second press, the green part lights
continuously, showing that the TLBO setting has been changed to the displayed
value.
The last setting in the TLBO subgroup is exit. When the exit function is displayed, you can press up on
the SET/NEXT switch to leave the TLBO subgroup and display TYPE, the first INTF function. To exit
the INTF group entirely, press up or down on the GROUP switch.
To access the TLBO function directly, proceed as follows:
1. Select the INTF group using the GROUP switch.
2. Press down on the SET/NEXT switch until TLBO is displayed.
As mentioned above, the TLBO function can also be accessed from the HEAD
subgroup by displaying its "exit" function and pressing up on the SET/ NEXT
switch.
3. When the display shows TLBO, the green part of the ON/OFF indicator lights if the
multiplexer remote port is locked, and the red part lights if it is unlocked. To toggle the remote
port from locked to unlocked (or unlocked to locked), press up twice on the SET/NEXT switch.
To exit the TLBO function and display the TYPE subgroup, press down on the SET/NEXT switch. To
exit the INTF group entirely, press up or down on the GROUP switch.
