Section 9. POWER SUPPLY AND P/S ALARM I/O
9.1 INTRODUCTION
This section provides technical information on Power Supply modules, and Power Supply Alarm I/O
modules used in IMUX 2000 M-DACS T1 Multiplexers. Refer to Paragraph 9.2 for Power Supply
module information, and to paragraph 9.3 for Power Supply Alarm I/O module information. Table 9-1
gives general information on these modules. For specific component information at the board level
please contact the factory with the board part number and revision level. Power Supply Schematics
are provided at the end of this section.

9.2 POWER SUPPLY MODULE
9.2.1 DESCRIPTION
The 2000 PS power supply modules are the power source for all logic circuits in the IMUX 2000 family,
which consists of the Multiplexer, ILS and DACS. As listed above, they are available in both dc-input
and ac-input versions. 50 watts of output power is available. The High Power models will give 75 watts
of output power.
Two supplies may be paralleled directly for redundancy, as Schottky steering diodes are provided on the
5-volt and 15-volt outputs. Input fusing and output overcurrent protection are provided as safety
features. In addition, the supply is designed to meet the Oscillatory, and Fast-Transient tests specified in
IEEE C37.90.1-2002.
