10. With the T1 loopback Plug in place, perform all desired channel tests using available VF, data,
and other type test sets. These tests may include, for example, loss tests on voice and program
channels, bit error tests on data channels, and so on.
(See Section 8 of this manual for additional information.)
11. When channel tests are complete, remove the loopback either by removing the loopback plug
or the fiber patch cords.
12. Go to the M-DACS multiplexer at Location 2 and 3 and perform the next procedure.
7.3.2 M-DACS MULTIPLEXER AT LOCATION 2 and 3 (Loop-Timed)
Use the following procedure to check out the M-DACS multiplexer, loop-timed multiplexer at
Location 2 or 3. It is assumed that the multiplexer is already installed, wired, and powered.
The major difference between this procedure, and that used to check-out the M-DACS multiplexer at
Location 1, is that the DACS module primary clock has to be temporarily changed from “4” to “INT”
while local loopback tests are performed. DACS module primary clock must be returned to “4” before
the M-DACS multiplexer is put on-line.
1. Verify that the CM4 modules in slot 4 is in the DI-A mode as follows:
a. Remove the CM4 module in slot 4 for a few seconds and then re-insert it.
b. Look at the display on the CM4 module.
The display should read "DIA".
Go to step 2.
Note: For the rest of this procedure, this module will be referred to as "CM4
Module A."
2. Verify that the CM4 modules in slot 5 is in the DI-B mode as follows:
a. Remove the CM4 module in slot 5 for a few seconds and then re-insert it.
b. Look at the display on the CM4 module.
The display should read "DIB".
Go to step 3.
Note: For the rest of this procedure, this module will be referred to as "CM4
Module B."
3. Verify that T1 line code and frame format are set up as required for both CM4s (TSEL group).
4. Verify that primary timing on both CM4s are setup for “THRU” (TIME group)
