SPECIFICATIONS
As of the date this Instruction Data Sheet was published, the following specifications apply to the RFL
DA-121I Asynchronous Data Channel Module. Because all of RFL products undergo constant
improvement and refinement, these specifications are subject to change without notice.
Live Insertion/Extraction: The DA-121I is capable of live insertion and extraction into the IMUX
2000 shelf without interruption to the DS1 or any other DS0.
Asynchronous Data Interface:
One or seven channel operation, seven independent RS-232 data ports.
Data Rate:
0 to 1.2 kbps per channel. May operate up to a maximum of 2.4 Kbps, depending upon the
maximum jitter the equipment can tolerate. Sample rate per input is 8 kHz.
Time Slots:
All seven channels occupy one selectable DS0 time slot.
Jitter: At maximum input rate, worst case output data jitter is 15% (proportionally lower for lower
input rates).
RS-232 Interface:
Supports: TX data, RX data, Ground.
Input Voltage Range:
-30 volts to + 30 volts
Output Voltage Swing:
± 5 volts to ±10 volts
Connector:
The DA-121I module requires the use of the MA-405I Module Adapter, which provides seven
ports for RS-232 interface using one DB-25 connector.
