The NMS software provides the pretrip settings in milliseconds and converts the time
to a timer setting. The values currently calculated in NMS 9.0 and earlier are for
version 4 ACTEL, and NMS 9.1 and later for version 5 ACTEL.
Function 1 & 2 Pretrip Timer
When a user selects a value for P05, it must be in increments of 1.0 ms. In addition to
this there is a negative offset of 1.0 ms. Also observe in Table 4 that the Function 1
pretrip timer (F1) is represented by the lower four bits of P05, and the Function 2
pretrip timer (F2) is represented by the upper four bits of P05. Therefore when you set
P05 equal to a number, you are setting F1 and F2 simultaneously. Also note that the
minimum setting of F1 and F2 is 2, for security reasons. For example, if a user wants
F2 to be = 4.0 ms, and F1 to be = 3.0 ms, do the following:
For F2 (upper four bits): (4.0 ms) - 1 = 3 (decimal) = 0011 (binary)
For F1 (lower four bits): (3.0 ms) - 1 = 2 (decimal) = 0010 (binary)
The 3 and 2 can be entered in either decimal or binary format. Thus enter the following
SCL command:
<address>:<subaddress>:SET:P05=50;
or
<address>:<subaddress>:SET:P05=B00110010;
