11. Select an unused time slot for the TMR module using DIP switches SW2-1 through SW2-5.
Each active channel uses one 64 Kbps digital time slot within the multiplexer’s aggregate rate.
Set the time slot using direct binary coding as shown in Table 7. Refer to the multiplexer
manual for guidelines on time slot selection.
Note that selecting an invalid time slot will disable the TMR module. In T1 systems, only time
slots 1 through 24 are allowed. Time slot 24 is not available for a T1 system using fast
reframing.
In E1 systems, time slots 1 through 31 are allowed, however, time slots 0 and 16 are reserved
and cannot be used. Time slot 30 is not available for an E1 system using fast reframing. Time
slot 31 is not available if inter-node communications (NMX) is used.
12. Select module service on or off using SW2-8.
13. Select the TMR address using switches SW3-1 through SW3-6. The TMR address selected
must be the same as the TMX address.
14. Select analog channel 1 transfer ratio using SW4-1 and SW4-2.
15. Select analog channel 1 offset using SW4-3.
16. Select analog channel 1 loss of signal output using SW4-4.
17. Select analog channel 1 fixed or live output using SW4-5.
18. Select analog channel 1 fixed output level using SW4-6.
19. Select analog channel 1 output gain using SW4-7 and SW4-8.
20. Repeat steps 14 through 19 for analog channels 2-4 as applicable.
21. Install the TMR module into the IMUX 2000 chassis and allow about 15 seconds for the board
to complete its power up process. This insures that the common module has read all
configuration data from the TMR module.
22. Verify TMX/TMR system performance by using the recommended procedure in the testing
section of this publication. After performance has been verified, set both modules to remote
mode if applicable.
The RFL TMX and TMR modules are now installed. If your multiplexer is set up for remote access
and control, you can now change the operating parameters of the module by using SCL (simple
command language) or NMS (network management software). For more information on remote access
and control, consult the IMUX 2000 instruction manual and the Remote Control Interface section of
this document.
