PROGRAMMING THE TMR MODULE
Refer to the IMUX 2000 or IMUX 2000E Instruction Manuals for information on using NMS. While
in NMS select the “View or Change a Card” screen for the TMR module. An NMS window will be
seen similar to the one shown in Figure 7. You must scroll down the parameter list to see all of the
parameters. Select and set each parameter as required by double clicking on the desired parameter
name. For example, double click on the “Timeslot” parameter, and a dialog box will appear with all
available time slot choices. Click on the desired time slot number to make your selection. Then click
on “OK” to confirm your selection. This will return you to the parameter window.
Note that the “Output Offset Magnitude” dialog box accepts numbers from 0 to 255. Each number
represents an increment of 200μA. For reference see Table 16.
To select the “Output XFR Ratio” parameter proceed as follows:
Let’s say that you want to select a Transfer Ratio Value (XFR) of 2. By referring to Table 20 you will
see that an XFR of 2 is equivalent to 4096 x (1/2048). The equivalent parameter setting = 4096
increments, where each increment is = 1/2048. This number (4096) must be converted to 15-bit binary
format. For this example the binary representation of 4096 is (001 0000 0000 0000). Divide this
number into a 7-bit MSB section and an 8-bit LSB section. The MSB section = (010 0000) and the
LSB section =
(0000 0000).
The MSB must be entered into the “Output 1 XFR Ratio MS Byte” dialog box in decimal format. For
this example enter the number “16” for the MSB.
The LSB must be entered into the “Output 1 XFR Ratio LS Byte” dialog box in decimal format. For
this example enter the number “0” for the MSB.
After all TMR parameter selections have been made they must be written to the TMR card in the
network. This is done by using the “WRITE” operation as described in Section 7 of The IMUX 2000
Instruction Manual.
