INSTALLING THE 107495 IN AN IMUX 2000
MOUNTING
The MA-490 Telnet I/O is packaged in a plug-in module, for mounting in an IMUX 2000 chassis.
When installing the MA-490 Telnet I/O module in stand alone mode (without an NCM module), a
location should be selected at the rear of the IMUX 2000 chassis which is directly in line with a blank
slot at the front of the chassis. Make sure the DATA port cable can reach the Common Module remote
port or the external equipment RS-232 port as applicable. This cable should have enough slack so it is
not in danger of being pulled out of place. Refer to Figures 4 and 5 for additional information.
Before plugging the module into the IMUX 2000 chassis make sure the programmable jumpers J1, J2
and J3 are properly positioned. In stand alone mode, these three jumpers must be in the /NCM
position.
POWER INPUT
The 107495 is powered through the IMUX 2000 motherboard. The current drawn from the IMUX
2000, 5-volt power supply is approximately 0.175 Amps.
DATA PORT
Use the supplied ribbon cable to connect the MA-490 Data port to the Common Module RS-232
connector or to the external equipment RS-232 connector as applicable.
CRAFT PORT
Connect a PC or laptop to the Craft port on the MA-490 using the cable shown in Figure 7. Then
program the MA-490 TCP/IP parameters and Data port parameter in accordance with your
requirements. The instructions for doing this start on page 15.
ETHERNET
Connect the MA-490 to the ethernet hub or switch. The ethernet connector is an RJ-45 which is the
commonly used 10BaseT connector for this application.
