RFL Electronics IMUX Ap-Note 15.
PROCEDURE TO REPLACE REDUNDANT COMMON MODULE.
Ascertain that the shelf is operational with the currently ACTIVE
module.
Remove the INACTIVE Redundant Common Module.
Insert replacement.
Observe blinking green activity indicator next to the alphanumeric
display.
Fast blink means that configuration information from the active
module is not yet copied to the inactive one.
When fast blink changes to a slow "heartbeat", Common Module and
Channel Modules configuration was copied successfully. The inactive
module can be made active, if needed.
Note that if the active module is subsequently reconfigured, the changes
may not get copied into the inactive module for up to 16 seconds.
Therefore, inactive module should not be activated for 16 seconds after
configuration changes.
The above procedure pertains to TERM as well as both DI-A and DI-B
Redundant Common Modules.
For more details on operating a redundant system, refer to Application Note
16, “Configuration Transfer when Switching Between Redundant Common
Modules”.
