3.4 FIRMWARE UPDATE PROCEDURE
Firmware updating procedure is described in the copier service manual.
3.5 POWER-ON SELF TEST
The controller tests the following devices at power-on. If an error is detected, an
error code is stored in the controller board.
• CPU, ASIC and clock
• Flash ROM
• Resident and optional SDRAM
• IEEE1394 interface (if installed)
• NVRAM
• PS fonts (if installed)
3.6 SELF DIAGNOSTIC TEST
In addition to the power-on self test, you can set the machine in a more detailed
diagnostic mode to test other components and conditions.
It requires a loop-back connector (P/N: G0219350).
1. Turn off the machine and attach the loop-back connector to the parallel
interface.
2. Turn on the machine while pressing the key and the key together.
3. The machine prints the diagnostic report automatically.
