Releasing the brakes
This procedure details how to release the holding brakes when the robot is equipped
with an internal brake release unit.

The brake release unit is equipped with two but-
tons for controlling the axes brakes. Button A for
right arm and button B for left arm.
Releasing the brakes with the brake release but-
tons require that power is supplied to the robot,
see Connecting power and the FlexPendant on
page 90.

CAUTION
When releasing the holding brakes, the robot axes
may move very quickly and sometimes in unexpec-
ted ways!

Release the holding brake on the right arm axes
by pressing the button A.

Release the holding brake on the left arm axes by
pressing the button B.
The brake will function again as soon as the button
(A or B) is released.
