Static L2 circuit
For static L2VPN VC, since there is no signaling, most problems might be due to the
configuration and forwarding plane. Follow the below steps to troubleshoot the problem.
Procedure steps
1.
Ensure all MPLS prerequisites are satisfied.
2. Ensure the static L2VPN FTN and static L2VPN ILM are configured properly with
valid interface and labels show mpls static-l2-circuit-ftn show mpls
static-l2-circuit-ilm
3. Ensure the VPN is configured with the correct VC ID and peer IP address show
mpls l2-circuit
4. Ensure there is an underlying MPLS tunnel to the destination. The MPLS tunnel can
be RSVP,LDP or static tunnel.
5. Check the Tunnel is UP and running and verify the session, forwarding entry, and
route data base are in sync: show mpls table-forwarding show ip route
show ip route database
6. Check the static L2VPN VC statistics for transmitted packets show mpls stats-
vc
7. Check the MPLS forwarding statistics for L2VPN traffic show mpls stats-ftn
show mpls stats-interface
8.
If the statistics are not getting updated, check the incoming data packet: show
interface <interface name>
