Use the following commands for debugging issues with BGP route update processing,
including policy filters:
debug bgp updates {in|out}
debug bgp filters

BGP show options
There are many show commands available for troubleshooting BGP operations. The BGP
show commands provide information that ranges from a quick summary or status of peers to
very
detailed filters for displaying BGP routes, and even how and which routes are affected by
the BGP policies on the system.
Begin with the following commands for troubleshooting issues related to BGP peering
sessions, or to get a quick summary of information on the prefixes and routes received from
specific neighbors:
show bgp all neighbors show bgp ipv6 neighbors
show bgp all summary show bgp ipv6 summary
show ip protocols bgp
Use the following commands to get information about the BGP routes learned and the route
status: show bgp ipv4 show bgp ipv6

information about routes to a specific destination or network (IPv4 network):

BGP routes can be subjected to various policy configurations that can change the route
attributes. Also, certain features (for example, dampening) can cause the routes to be
