Prerequisite: Policy-map should be successfully created and mapped to interfaces. CBQ
parameters are configured and applied properly.
Troubleshooting tips:
1.
Increase the CR configured to the class-map to handle more bandwidth for the
class.
2. Tune the RED parameters such that not most of the packets will get dropped. Very-
low match value for RED parameters is not advised, since it will lead to more packet
loss.
PBR
PBR is not working
Symptom: Policy based redirection is not working for a policy-map attached to an interface.
Problem description: PBR is achieved through QoS. PBR is configured as one of the actions
for all packets matching the rules of a class-map. Sometimes, user may see that PBR is not
working i.e. packets are sent to the specified next-hop or outgoing interface.
Troubleshooting tips: Some of the reasons that could result in the above behavior are described
below:
• Class map classification keys are not proper. For PBR to happens, first of all, the packets
have to match the rules of the class-map to which PBR is configured. Make sure that rules
are configured correctly using the following command and make sure the packets hit the
class-map by enabling PBR.
