DETECT MALFUNCTIONING PART
• Check the following for a possible malfunction:
− Fuse EF5
− Main relay
− Front fuse and relay box A-040
− Harness for an open or short between EVAP canister control valve and fuse EF5
− Harness for an open or short between ECM terminal 14 and fuse EF5
Is the check result normal?
Yes
>> Go to the next step.
No
>> Repair or replace malfunctioning part(s).
6.
CHECK EVAP CANISTER CONTROL VALVE CONTROL CIRCUIT FOR AN OPEN
• Check the voltage between EVAP canister control valve terminal 2 and ground, terminal side.
• Approximately 3.6 V should exist.
Is the check result normal?
Yes
>> Go to the next step.
No
>>
Repair or replace circuit for an open in harness or connectors.
If harness is normal, go to the next step.
7.
CHECK EVAP CANISTER CONTROL VALVE
• Turn ignition switch off.
• Remove EVAP canister control valve.
• Check the resistance as shown in the following table:

1 & 2 Approximately 26
• Check air passage continuity and operation when applying 12 V to terminal 1 and ground to terminal 2.
• The air passage should be opened.
Is the check result normal?
Yes
>> Go to the next step.
No
>> Replace EVAP canister control valve.
