2. Disconnect the heater core hoses (1).
3. Remove the instrument panel (See Instrument Panel Removal & Installation in Section 15 Body & Accessories).
4. Disconnect the HVAC housing electrical connector.
5. Remove the HVAC housing assembly and place it on a workbench (See HVAC housing removal & installation in
Section 13 Heating & Air Conditioning).
6. Remove the mode door and the blend door cable
retaining clamps (1) and remove the two cables.
7. Loosen the two heat exchanger shield retaining
screws and remove the heat exchanger shield.
8. Remove the eight screws on the heater shield, and disassemble the evaporator shield.
