•When the serialinterfaceisused:
For DTR/DSR control:
Theprinter sends thestatus after verifyingthat thehostisready toreceive.Ifthe host is notreadyto
receive, theprinterwaits forthehost to becomeready toreceive.
For XON/XOFF control:
Theprinter sends thestatus without checking whether the host is readyto receive orbusy.
• Because this command is executed when data is mapped in the receive buffer, there may be a delay
between receivingthe command andsending thestatus depending on theconditionof thereceivebuffer.
•IfASB(AutomaticStatus Back)is enabledbyGS a, thehost mustdiscriminate betweenthestatusdue to this
command andthestatusduetoASB.
•WheneverthePaper-endSensordetectsa“paperout”state,theprintergoesoffline,andthecommandisnot
executed. Therefore, the printer never sends astatus “No paper inPaper-end detector (0CH)”.
