Thiscommandonlyworks whenit isentered atthe beginning of aline.
When PAGE MODEisselected, thiscommandonlyexecutesthe internal flagging ofthe printer.
The setting of thiscommanddoes not affect PAGE MODE.
Ifthe valueenteredwiththiscommand exceedsthe printablearea for one line,the entire areaexcept theleft
marginisset asthe print area width.
The basic calculation pitches are defined by GS P. Once defined, the print area width is not changed if the
basiccalculation pitchischanged byGS P.
The print area width is calculated with the horizontal basic calculation pitch (x) defined by GS P. A fraction
resulting from the calculation is corrected with the minimum pitch of the mechanism, and the remainder is
omitted.
Ifthefirst character tobe mappedat thebeginningofa line has a width (including the right spacing) greater
than theprint area width, onlythat lineishandled as follows:
(1) The print area is extended toward the right to accommodate the first character, but not wider than the
printable area.
