•Ifthe valueenteredwiththiscommand exceedsthe printablearea for one line,the entire areaexcept theleft
marginisset asthe print area width.
• The basic calculation pitches are defined by GS P. Once defined, the print area width is not changed if the
basiccalculation pitchischanged byGS P.
• The print area width is calculated with the horizontal basic calculation pitch (x) defined by GS P. A fraction
resulting from the calculation is corrected with the minimum pitch of the mechanism, and the remainder is
omitted.
•Ifthefirst character tobe mappedat thebeginningofa line has a width (including the right spacing) greater
than theprint area width, onlythat lineishandled as follows:
(1) The print area is extended toward the right to accommodate the first character, but not wider than the
printable area.
