Ifanystatusitemisenabled,thestatusissenttothehostwhenthiscommandisexecuted.Afterthattimeon,
thestatusissenteachtimeanenabledstatusitemchanges.Becauseeachstatusitemrepresentsthecurrent
condition, status items disabled for ASB mayalso havechanged.
The ASB function is disabled if allstatusitems are disabled.
Ifthe ASB function is enabled by default, the host receives the status the first time the printer gets ready for
communicationafter itisturned on.
The printer sends 4bytes ofstatus showninthetablesbelow,without checking whetherthe host isreadyto
receive or busy.The4 bytes of status isa continuousstring except forXOFFcode.
Because this command is executed when data is mapped in the receive buffer, there may be a delay
between commandreceivingandstatus sending depending on theconditionof thereceive buffer.
Even if theprinterisexcludedfrom the selection ofperipheral equipment ESC =,the 4bytes ofstatus is sent
to the host wheneverstatus changes.
When DLE EOT, GS I, or GS r is used, the host must discriminate between the status specified by these
commands andthestatusduetoASB.
