Engine start in emergency mode
When the battery in the smart key is at low level
or depleted, pressing the ENGINE START/STOP
button cannot start the engine. At this time, the
emergency mode can be used to start the
engine.
1. Place the smart key above the key icon in the
front of the storage space under the console,
with the side with buttons upward and the big
end facing the front of the vehicle;
2. Start the engine according to the correct
starting method.
In this case, replace the battery of the smart key
in time.
Emergency start of engine
When the engine is accidentally shut down and
the power mode is “ON”:
● Set the shift lever to “N”, depress the brake
pedal and press the ENGINE START/STOP
button once to start the engine.
When the engine is accidentally shut down and
the power mode is ACC:
● Set the shift lever to “N”, depress the brake
pedal and press the ENGINE START/STOP
button twice to start the engine.
WARNING
Use this function only in an emergency.
NOTE
When the battery is too low to start the
engine, try to start the engine with the battery
of another vehicle using a jumper cable.

WARNING
● Once the engine is started, immediately
release the ENGINE START/STOP
button. Do not run the starter for more
than 10s at a time. If the engine is not
started, set the ENGINE START/STOP
button to “OFF” position and wait for 10s,
and then start the engine again.
Otherwise, the starter may be damaged.
● Do not keep the engine running for a long
time in a poorly ventilated place or an
enclosed room, as exhaust contains
harmful gases which can make people
comatose and even suffocate.
● Do not leave the vehicle unattended while
the engine is running.
Engine shutdown
After the vehicle is completely stopped, check
that the shift lever is in the “P” position, then
apply the parking brake and press the ENGINE
START/STOP button to shut down the engine
normally.
CAUTION
● After heavy load operation, it is
recommended to idle the engine for
several minutes before shutdown, so that
the cooling system can continue working
to cool down the engine.
