Precautions
When the vehicle needs towing, always observe
the local regulations. Improper towing method
will damage the vehicle. To ensure proper
towing and to protect the vehicle against
accidental damage, it is recommended to ask
the professional road rescue personnel for help.
While towing, the following points apply to the
driver and professional road rescue personnel:
Before towing, please confirm that the
transmission, the steering system and the
transmission system are all in working state.
If any of the above systems is damaged, the
vehicle must be loaded onto a flatbed tow
truck or be towed with the front wheels lifted.
The drive (front) wheels must be off the
ground during towing.
The parking brake must be released when
the rear wheels of the vehicle are on the
ground during towing. (See page 135 for how
to release the parking brake)
While towing the vehicle, activate the hazard
warning lamp.
Carry the key with you instead of leaving it
inside the vehicle.
WARNING
If the faulty vehicle cannot supply voltage,
the brake lamp, turn signal lamp and
other lamps of the vehicle will not work.
Never tow the vehicle in this case;
otherwise, there is a risk of accident.
Engine start via pushing or towing is not
applicable for the vehicle because such
method cannot start the engine and may
cause damage to transmission.
It is possible to fix both front (rear) wheels of the
faulty vehicle to the rescue vehicle, and then fix
both rear (front) wheels to the small trailer.
