AEB*
The autonomous emergency braking is
abbreviated to AEB.
Through the millimeter wave radar in the middle
of the front bumper and the camera on the front
windshield, the function monitors the relative
speed and distance of moving or stationary lead
vehicle and pedestrian crossing the road, and
determines whether the vehicle is likely to collide
with the lead vehicle/pedestrian. When there is a
risk of collision, the system will warn the driver
through warning graphics and the alarm buzzer,
and if necessary, the system will prepare for
partial or full braking to avoid or mitigate
collision. The system can achieve the following
functions: forward collision warning (FCW) and
autonomous emergency braking (AEB).
The AEB functions can be set in “CarCenter” –
“Driving assistance” – “FCW” and “AEB”.
● The AEB system cannot replace the
driver’s driving and observation. The
driver is always responsible for
decelerating when the system cannot
detect the vehicle ahead and keeping a
safe distance from other vehicles, and
cannot completely rely on the system.
● Because of physical limitations, the AEB
system can not guarantee safe and
reliable operation under any
circumstances. If you have any question
about this function, please contact an
authorized dealer.
● The AEB system is designed to improve
driving safety. It cannot cope with all road,
traffic and weather conditions.
Forward collision warning (FCW)
The AEB system monitors the speed and
distance of the traveling or stationary vehicle
ahead, pedestrians/bicycles crossing the road,
or pedestrians/bicycles traveling longitudinally
ahead relative to the ego vehicle, and judges
whether the vehicle is likely to collide with the
vehicle ahead or the pedestrian crossing the
road.
When there is a risk of collision, the FCW
function will work to warn the driver of the
danger of collision ahead through warning texts,
graphics and alarm buzzer, requiring the driver
to take timely braking or other measures to
ensure a safe driving distance. If the driver does
not respond to the above collision warning
(including visual and audible warning) and the
danger level increases, the AEB function will
intervene for active braking.
This function has a warning speed range of
7~130km/h for vehicles stationary or traveling in
the same direction in front (5~130km/h for
models with camera sensor only), and 7~80km/h
for stationary targets (5~80km/h for models with
camera sensor only).
Braking preparation
When the AEB system judges an emergency
situation, it will automatically conduct the braking
preparation, that is, automatically reduce the
clearance between the brake pads and the brake
discs, during which a slight braking feeling may
be produced.
Visual and audible alarms
When the system calculates that a collision may
occur, it will trigger a collision warning through
visual and audible alarms on the instrument
cluster to remind the driver to brake in time, so
as to keep a safe distance and avoid collision.
