Autonomous emergency braking (AEB)
If the system detects that the vehicle is still at
risk of collision when the driver applies
insufficient braking force or does not apply the
brakes, the AEB function intervenes to apply the
brakes automatically, and the instrument cluster
issues visual and audible alarms to avoid a
collision or minimize the speed of the collision.
The speed range of ego vehicle for this function
to provide braking assist against the vehicles
that are stationary or traveling in the same
direction and the pedestrians/bicycles traveling
longitudinally is 5-80km/h. The speed range of
ego vehicle for this function to provide braking
assist against the pedestrians/bicycles crossing
the road is 5-60 km/h.
Scenarios where AEB system needs to be
deactivated:
The vehicle is towed;
The vehicle enters an automatic car wash;
The radar or camera is blocked by temporary
installations or other objects;
The vehicle is running off-road or on a track;
The vehicle is running on a winding mountain
road with continuous curves;
When spare tire is used or tire chain is
installed;
The vehicle is under severe weather
conditions, such as heavy rain, heavy snow,
hail, etc.
CAUTION
The driver should not completely rely on
the AEB system, or intentionally test or
deliberately wait for the triggering of the
system. Due to the inherent limitations of
the system, missed or false triggers
cannot be completely avoided.
The AEB system only works on vehicles
traveling in the same direction or
stationary ahead and pedestrians
crossing the road, and does not work on
obstacles including but not limited to
moped scooters, bicycles, motorcycles,
animals, garbage cans, cartons, walls,
etc.
The AEB system cannot recognize
pedestrians below 0.8m in height.
The AEB systems cannot recognize all
pedestrians in all situations, such as
pedestrians with partial body covered or
pedestrians carrying larger objects.
The AEB system does not work on
oncoming vehicles that are changing the
lanes or in the same lane, pedestrians
traveling in the same direction or
oncoming pedestrians, and pedestrians
riding two-wheeled vehicles or tricycles.
AEB function settings
The FCW and AEB functions can be set
off/on through “CarCenter” Driving
assistance” “FWA” FCW and “AEB” in
MP5 display, and the FCW sensitivity can
also be set.
The AEB function can also be set off/on in
the shortcut menu interface on the MP5
display.
CAUTION
The radar detection may be interfered and
degraded by other radar sources, strong
radar reflections, or strong
electromagnetic fields.
The radar and camera detection may be
limited under severe weather conditions
(such as heavy rain, heavy snow, hail,
etc.).
The radar or camera detection may be
interfered and degraded if the radar or
camera is dirty or covered (by coverings
on license plate frame, front bumper,
windshield, etc.).
