Fusion Automatic Parking Assist (FAPA)*
FAPA
The FAPA senses the information of parking
spaces and obstacles around the vehicle by
relying on the ultrasonic sensor and panoramic
camera, automatically plans a parking path
through APA ECU after finding a parking space,
and realizes automatic park-in or park-out of
vehicle by controlling the brake actuator,
acceleration actuator, steering actuator, gear
actuator, etc.
During automatic parking, the driver shall pay
attention to the surrounding environment of the
vehicle, and take over the vehicle timely in case
of problems.
The FAPA supports the functions of parking
space search, parallel park-in, vertical park-in,
oblique park-in, parallel park-out, straight
advancing and straight reversing.
The FAPA can only be activated when the
vehicle is started.
CAUTION
Do not use the FAPA under the following conditions
to avoid inevitable risks of the vehicle during use:
On a slippery, muddy, water-accumulated, icy or
snowy road in bad weather;
On a road with significant slope or in a scene
with altitude difference (such as cliff edge, pond
edge, and road shoulder higher than adjacent
road sur ace).
WARNING
The FAPA is only a parking assistance function,
which cannot take place of the driver in
observing and judging! When the system works,
the driver also needs to confirm the surrounding
environment of the vehicle and strictly follow the
system prompts to avoid accidents.
WARNING
The FAPA may not detect some special
obstacles, so the driver should confirm whether
parking is suitable and safe. Refer to the
ultrasonic radar section of this chapter for details.
For parking spaces not between two vehicles,
such as a parking space between two trees,
between a vehicle and a tree or between a
vehicle and other obstacles, the driver should
confirm whether they are suitable for parking.
For parallel park-out, when the radar is in static
detection and cannot fully identify the
surrounding environment, the driver should
determine the park-out direction to avoid hitting a
curb or crossing a ditch.
Since the parking space search function can't
identify no-parking areas and special parking
space marks, the driver should confirm whether
they comply with traffic laws and regulations.
When the curb is made of other materials than
stone or out of the detection capability and the
parking space depth is small, the tires or rims of
the vehicle may be damaged by the curb if
parking is improper.
Since the sensor may not work normally due to
low obstacles such as curb and wheel chock
during automatic parking and thus there is a risk
of collision, the driver shall always observe the
surrounding environment and take human
intervention if necessary.
Please carefully read and follow the relevant
information and warning instructions.
