Vehicle engine start and shutdown
Starting switch
The ENGINE START/STOP button is located on
the central control panel of the instrument panel.
● The engine can be started without using a
key.
● This button can be operated to switch
between power modes.
● As long as doors are unlocked, the backlight
of the ENGINE START/STOP button will
come on, which is convenient for recognition
in the dark.
● When the vehicle starts, the blue indicator
lamp on the ENGINE START/STOP button
will come on, and then go out after the power
supply is switched off.
Power mode switching
With the brake pedal not depressed, every press
on the ENGINE START/STOP button can make
the power supply state of the system change.
The power mode switches between “OFF”→
“ACC”→ “ON” (w/engine shut down)→ “OFF”.
When the vehicle starts, the indicator lamp on
the ENGINE START/STOP button comes on in
blue.
OFF: power-off. ACC: some accessory circuits
such as radio are connected. ON: the vehicle is
powered on.
● Before starting, make sure that there are
no electric consumers (such as charger,
digital video recorder, etc.) connected in
the power outlet, otherwise the engine
may not be started normally.
● If the power mode is “ON” for a long time
and the engine is not running, the system
will automatically switch to the ECO mode
to reduce power consumption of the
battery.
● In some cases, it may be necessary to
turn the steering wheel slightly to unlock it
and switch the power mode after the
ENGINE START/STOP button is pressed.
● With the engine running, when you leave
the vehicle with the smart key, the engine
can continue running. But once the
engine is shut down, it will not be able to
start again. The smart key should be held
by the driver of the vehicle.
Engine start
With the smart key within the effective range of
the vehicle, depress the brake pedal and check
that the shift lever is in the “P” or “N” position.
Press the ENGINE START/STOP button to start
the engine normally. At this time, the blue
indicator lamp on the ENGINE START/STOP
button comes on at the same time.
When you press the ENGINE START/STOP
button, if the brake pedal is not depressed, the
instrument cluster display will show “Depress
brake pedal and start engine”; if the shift lever
is not in “P” or “N”, the instrument cluster display
will show “Start engine in P or N position”.
