Acoustic vehicle alerting system (AVAS)*
HEV models are equipped with the AVAS. When
the vehicle is running at a low speed, the AVAS
installed at the front of the vehicle will issue the
warning sound to alert surrounding pedestrians
or vehicles, so as to reduce the probability of an
accident.
Function activation
After the vehicle is started, the AVAS is turned
on by default, and after the shift lever is set to
“D”, “R” or “N”, the AVAS installed at the front of
the vehicle issues the “buzz” warning sound.
When the vehicle speed exceeds 30km/h, the
warning sound will automatically stop.
● During the driving process of the vehicle,
if the AVAS is activated, but no warning
sound is heard from the front of the
vehicle, stop the vehicle immediately
when it is safe to do so, and contact the
authorized dealer for inspection.
Function activation
The AVAS can be set on/off on the MP5 display.
The procedure is as follows:
● Tap in turn the sliders on the right side of
“CarCenter” – “Body settings” - “AVAS” in
MP5 display to turn on/off the AVAS function.
When the AVAS function is off, the AVAS OFF
indicator lamp on the instrument cluster will light
up.
● Only when there are no pedestrians within
a short distance around the vehicle, and
the surrounding environment does not
require any warning sound, the AVAS is
allowed to be turned off.
