Electronic stability control (ESC)*
The ESC (including EBD, ABS, TCS, AYC, HBA,
HHC, ARP,HDC, assisted braking, and DDS)
can improve the driving stability of the vehicle.
For example, it can reduce the risk of sideslip
during acceleration and driving on curves.
The ESC works only when the engine is running.
The ESC should be deactivated in special cases
such as:
When the vehicle travels with tire chains.
When the vehicle travels on roads covered
with deep snow or on soft roads.
When the vehicle is stuck on muddy roads,
and requires to be moved back and forth.
CAUTION
The ESC has certain limitations for driving
stability control of the vehicle. Even if the
vehicle is equipped with ESC, the driving
mode should be adjusted at any time
according to the road and traffic conditions.
This is especially important for driving on
slippery and wet roads. Do not risk driving
just because this system improves the
vehicle stability; otherwise, there is a danger
of accident!
NOTE
ESC cannot be turned off when the vehicle
speed is above 60km/h.
ESC recovery
The ESC function can be recovered after
deactivation by any of the following means:
The ESC will be automatically recovered
when the ENGINE START/STOP button is
set to “OFF” position and the engine is
restarted.
Tap the slider on the right side of “ESC OFF”
in the MP5 display to turn off the ESC
function, and then the ESC OFF indicator
lamp on the instrument cluster will go
out.
ESC fault
If the ESC fault warning lamp on the
instrument cluster stays on and the ESC OFF
indicator lamp is off when the vehicle is
running, it indicates that the ESC is faulty. In this
case, please go to the authorized dealer for
inspection or repair.
