CAUTION
Be sure to connect the positive terminals
(+) of the two batteries. Do not connect
the negative terminal (-) of battery of
rescue vehicle to the negative terminal of
battery of faulty vehicle. The negative
terminal (-) of battery of rescue vehicle
should be connected to the body
grounding point of faulty vehicle.
When connecting or removing the jumper
cable, connect or remove one jumper
cable completely before connecting or
removing another jumper cable, so as not
to cause a short circuit.
Confirm that the jumper cable will not
come into contact with any moving parts
of the engine.
Confirm that the clamp of jump cable
does not contact other metals.
Never run the starter for more than 10 s. If
the engine does not start immediately, set
the ENGINE START/STOP button to
“OFF” position and wait at least 10
seconds, and then try again.
Before removing the jumper cable, keep
the engine on the faulty vehicle running
idly to prevent shutdown.
When operating on or around the battery,
wear proper goggles, and remove the
finger ring, bracelet and any other
ornaments.
In case of reversed polarity of positive
and negative battery terminals during
jump starting, it may cause damage to the
vehicle (e.g., damage to vehicle
fuse/relay, etc.) and may even cause the
battery to explode.
Improper jump starting will cause battery
explosion, resulting in serious injury or
death, and also vehicle damage. Always
observe instructions in this section.
The battery is always surrounded by
explosive hydrogen. The battery must be
kept far away from any fire spark and
open fire.
Never connect the negative battery
terminal (-) of the rescue vehicle to the
negative battery terminal (-) of the faulty
vehicle; otherwise, the spark generated at
the moment of connecting the cable may
ignite the gas produced by the battery and
cause an explosion.
Do not connect the negative jumper cable
to a component of the fuel system or a
brake line; otherwise, it may cause a fire.
During jump starting, never lean over the
battery. Be careful not to get burned by
acid.
When removing the jumper cable, turn on
the blower or the rear windshield heater of
the faulty vehicle to reduce the voltage
peak generated when the cable is
removed, so as to avoid sparks.
Never make battery electrolyte splashed
to your eyes, skin and clothes, or any
painted surfaces, since battery electrolyte
is corrosive acid solution, if it contacts any
part of your body, immediately rinse the
surface with a plenty of water.
Place the battery at the place out of reach
of children.
The rated voltage of the battery in the
rescue vehicle must be 12V. Use of a
battery of incorrect rated voltage will
cause damage to vehicle.
Never try to jump start a frozen battery;
otherwise, it may cause the batter to
explode and result in a serious accident.
