5. QM3 Circuit Controller/KM3
Contactor:
QM3 Circuit Controller: The QM3
Circuit Controller provides the thermal
overload protection for the AC supply
voltage going to the GS3 48 VDC Power
Supply and the GS2 24 VDC Power
Supply. (Illustration 37) When switched
to the “Off” position, the GS3 and GS2
Power Supplies are disabled. When in
the “On” position, it supplies 460 VAC to
the GS3 and GS2 Power Supplies.
When QM3 is turned “on,” wires 60 and
61 transfer a 24 VDC signal from the
AR11 Input Module, through the N.O.
contacts on QM3 Circuit Controller and
back to the AR11 Input Module to tell
the Computer that the QM3 Circuit
Controller is “on.” (Illustration 38)
KM3 Contactor: When energized, the
KM3 Contactor sends 3-phase AC
supply voltage to the GS3 48 VDC
Power Supply and the GS2 24 VDC
Power Supply. The Computer sends the
signal to energize the KM3 Contactor to
the AR7 Safety Output Module. The
AR7 Safety Output Module then sends
24 VDC and common on wires 30 and
31 to energize the coil of the KM3
Contactor and sends the 3-phase AC
Voltage to the GS3 and GS2 Power
Supplies. When the KM3 energizes,
wires 46 and 47 transfer a 24 VDC
signal from the AR9 Input Module,
through the N.O. contacts on KM3
Contactor and back to the AR9 Input
Module to tell the Computer that the
KM3 Contactor is energized.
