START-BUTT LENGTH: The “Start Butt” setting tells
the Computer how much of the tapered or irregular end
of the loaf to slice off at the beginning of the each set of
loaves. (Illustration 71) This portion will not be weighed
and will automatically be rejected. The Computer will
slice the distance set in the “Start Butt Length”
parameter, at the slice thickness programmed in the
“Slice Thickness” parameter. The “Start Butt Length”
can be set from 0.0 mm (0.0 inches) to 75.20 mm (3
inches).
END-BUTT LENGTH: The “End Butt” is the section of
the Loaf held by the Gripper. (Illustration 72) The “End
Butt Length” parameter tells the Computer how much
of the gripped end of the loaf should not be sliced. Set
the “End Butt Length” parameter to include any tapered
or irregularly shaped portion of the loaf. The “End Butt
Length” is adjustable from 14.29 mm (9/16 inches) to
101.6 mm (4 inches). The “End Butts” will be dropped
onto the “End Butt Shuttle” during Gripper retract.
