4. Unlock the shut-off valve on the service unit.

8.4 Switching on the cell
Precondition
All electrical and pneumatic connections are correctly connected.
No persons or objects are present within the danger zone of the robot.
All safety equipment is complete and fully functional.
The temperature of the cell has adapted to the ambient temperature.
Procedure
1. Unlock the shut-off valve and check the pressure on the manometer.

2. Release the EMERGENCY STOP device on the smartPAD and on the
display and operator control elements.
3. Switch on the main switch. The control PC begins to boot the operat-
ing system and the control software.
NOTICE
If the operator leaves the training cell, he must lock the touch panel,
actuate the EMERGENCY STOP device and store the key for the
EMERGENCY STOP securely.
Information about operator control of the robot using the smartPAD can
be found in the operating and programming instructions for the KUKA
System Software (KSS).
8.5 Restarting operation following an EMERGENCY STOP
Description
This section describes the procedure for restarting operation following ac-
tivation of the EMERGENCY STOP device on the smartPAD and on the
control panel.
Procedure
1. Open the safety door and rectify the fault.
