Setup Mode
The Control Setup
PresstheInfosoftbuttontoseealistofallofthecontrollerassignmentsforallzonesofthe
currentsetup.OntheInfopage,usetheAlphaWheel,cursorbuttons,or‐/+buttonstoscroll
throughthelist.
WhenyouselectasetupinSetupmode,thePC3K
sendsanumberofMIDImessages,oneach of
theMIDIchannelsusedbythesetup.Someoftheseinclude:ProgramChangecommands,MIDI
BankSelectmessages,PanandVolumemessages,andentryvaluesforphysicalcontrollers
(entryvaluesarethevaluesthattakeeffectassoonasyouselectthe
setup;therearealso
controllerexitvalues,whicharethevaluesofthecontrollerswhenyouleavethesetup—either
byselectinganothersetuporbyexitingSetupmode).Thevaluesofallthesemessagesdepend
ontheparametersyoudefineintheSetupEditor.
The Control Setup
Inadditiontozonesplittingandlayering,Setupmodeisapowerfulwaytotakeadvantageof
thePC3K’sprogrammablesliders,ribboncontrollers,andassignablebuttons.Inorderto
providesomeofthesameflexibilityforProgrammode,wecreatedthecontrolsetup,which
definesthecontrollerassignmentsforprogramsin
Programmode.
Thedefaultcontrolsetupis126 Internal Voices,butyoucanchooseanycontrolsetupyouwant.
Todothis,gototheMIDI‐modeTRANSMITpageanduseanynormaldataentrymethodto
changetheControlSetupparameter.WhenyoureenterProgrammode,allprogramswillnow
respondto
manyofthecontrollerassignmentsdefinedinZone1ofthecontrolsetup(Zones2–
16arenotrelevantinProgrammode,becauseaprogramcanoccupyonlyoneMIDIchannel).
Onceyousavechangestothecontrolsetup,thosechangeswillaffectallprogramswhenyouare
inProgrammode.You
maywanttoprogramseveraldifferentcontrolsetups,andswitchamong
themfordifferentapplications.
