MIDI Mode

Control Setup
Thisiswhereyouselectthecurrentcontrolsetup,Zone1ofwhichsetsthephysicalcontroller
assignmentsforallprogramswhileyou’ reinProgrammode.This parameterdoesnotapplyto
Setupmode.RefertoTheControlSetup on page 7‐2formoreinformationonthecontrolsetup.
Destination
TheDestinationparametertellsthePC3KwhichportswillcarryMIDIinformation,and
determinesifthePC3K’ssoundenginewillreceiveMIDIdata.Selectthedesireddestinationor
anycombinationofdestinationsdependingonyourneeds.Forexample,avalueofLocal
disablestheUSBandMIDIOutports.Usethis
settingwhenyouwanttoplaythePC3K,butnot
tosendanyMIDIinformationtootherMIDIinstruments(localcontrolonly.)Alternatively,you
wouldsetthisparametertoMIDIorUSB_MIDIifyouonlywantedtosendMIDIdatatoother
MIDIinstrumentsfromtheMIDIportorUSB
port,andnoMIDIdatawouldbesentlocallyto
thePC3K’ssoundengine.AvalueofMIDI+LocalwouldsendMIDIdataonlytotheMIDIout
portandthePC3K’ssoundengine.
ForSetupmode,thisparameteractsasafinalfilterforwhichportswillsendMIDIinformation.
Forexample,ifthisparameterissettoMIDI_USB+MIDI,andasetupzonehasitsDestination
parametersettoMIDI+LocalontheSetupMode:CH/PRGpage,MIDIdatawillbesentonly
throughthetraditionalMIDIport.Bothparameters,MIDIXmitDestinationandthesetup
DestinationparameterintheSetupMode:CH/PRGpage
actasfiltersandbothareactiveinSetup
mode.
Note:ThisparameterhasnoeffectonSongmode.InSongmodeeachtrack’sdestinationignoresthis
parameter.
Channel
ThisdefineswhichMIDIchannelthePC3KusestotransmitMIDImessageswhennotusinga
setuporSongmode(eachzonedeterminesthisinasetup,eachtrackdeterminesthisinasong.)
ThevalueforthisparametermatchesthecurrentMIDIchanneldisplayedonthetoplineofthe
Programmodepage.IfyouchangethecurrentMIDIchannelwhileinProgrammode,the
settingofthisparameterchangesaccordingly,andviceversa.
Transpose
Thisparameteraffectsthetranspositionthat’sappliedtotheMIDIdatastream.Adjustingthis
parametertransposesthePC3K’s notes,aswellasnotesonslavesreceivingfromthePC3K.This
transpositionsettingmirrorstranspositionsettingsfromtheProgramandSetupmainpages.It’s
valueisaddedtotranspositionsettingsmadeelsewhere.
ThisparameterhasnoeffectonMIDI
datasentfromSongmode.
