KB3 Channel
Withthisparameter,youcanspecifytheKB3channelinthecurrentsetup.Notethatifyou
assignaKB3programtoazonenotassignedtotheKB3channel,thePC3Kwillnotifyyouon
theCH/PRGpage.
ForsetupswithKB3andVASTprograms,youcanprogramaswitch
totogglebackandforth
betweenhavingtheslidersandmutebuttonsfunctionastheywouldwithKB3programs,and
havingtheslidersandmutebuttonsfunctionastheywouldwithVASTprograms.IntheSetup
editor,gototheCOMMONpageandsettheMutesparametertoKB3Control.
Nowpicka
switch—saySW, whichisrightnexttotheArpbutton.GototheSWITCHpage(or
correspondingeditorpageforwhateverswitchyouchoose),andsetOnControltoKB3Mutes
(enter169,orscrolltotheendoftheControllerList).Dothisforallzonesinthe
setup.Nowyou
cantogglebackandforthbetweenhavingdrawbarsorhavingslidersworkonthenon‐KB3
soundsbypressingtheSWswitch.

Mutes
TheMutesparametergivesyoumanualcontroloverthebehaviorofthebuttonsabovethe
programmablesliders.There’sreallyonlyonecaseinwhichyou’dneedtoworryaboutthis
parameter:whenyouhaveasetupthatcontainsbothVASTprogramsandaKB3program,and
youwantthebuttonsto
controlKB3features.
Bydefault,thePC3KusestheMutebuttons(thebuttonsabovetheslidersonkeyboardmodels)
tocontrolthemutingandunmutingofzones—whichmeansyoudon’thavereal‐timecontrol
overanyKB3features.Changethe MutesparametertoKB3ControltousetheMutebuttonsas
real‐timeKB3controllers.Thewhitelabelingabovethebuttonsdescribestheirfunctions.
Arpeggiator Global (ArpGlobal)
WiththeArpGlobalparameter,youcanseteachzone’sArpeggiatortoactasiftheyallhavethe
sameparametersontheARPEGGIATORpage.InadditiontoOFF,thereare asmanyArpGlobal
settingsastherearezonesinthe currentsetup.Forexample,inaseven‐zonesetup,you
can
selectavalueofOFF,orArp1–7forArpGlobal.ThenumberoftheArpGlobalsettingindicates
whichzone’sArpeggiatorisbeingglobalized.Thus,inthissameseven‐zonesetup,with
ArpGlobalsettoArp4,allsevenzoneswillbehaveasspecifiedbytheARPEGGIATORpage
parametersfor
zone4.
Arpeggiator Sync (ArpSync)
SettingArpSynctoSyncModeallowsyoutoarpeggiateacrosszonesboundaries.Therearetwo
importantpointstokeepinmindwhenusingSyncMode:
•Makesurethatthearpeggiatorkeyrangesofeachzonethatyouwanttosynccoverthe
entirekeyboard,ratherthancoveringtherangeofthecurrent
zone.Ifthearpeggiator
keyrangesdonotcoincide,thenplayingkeysinseparatezoneswillsoundnodifferentfrom
havingArpSyncsettoNotinSync.
For“regular”arpeggios,makesuretheBeatsparametersettingsontheARPEGGIATORpageof
eachzonethatyouwanttosyncarethesame.
DifferentBeatsvaluesresultinirregular—but
potentiallyveryinteresting—arpeggios.
