Common DSP Control Parameters
ThetypeofDSPfunctionavailableforanyfunctionblockdependsonthealgorithm.Someofthe
specializedfunctionslikethePANNERarealwayslocatedjustbeforethefinalAMPfunction.
Others,likethethree‐inputfunctions,appearonlyinalgorithmsthatarestructuredfor three‐
inputfunctions.
Youcanchange
thenatureofeachlayerofaprogramsimplybyassigningdifferentDSP
functionstothelayer’salgorithm.Yourlevelofcontrolgoesmuchdeeperthanthat,however.
EachDSPfunctionhasoneormoreparameterstowhichyoucanpatchavarietyofcontrol
sourcestomodifythebehaviorof
theDSPfunctionsthemselves.
Theparametersonthevariouscontrol‐inputpagesareverysimilar;infact,therearesix
parametersthatappearonalmosteverypage.Consequentlywerefertothemasthecommon
DSPcontrolparameters.Althoughtheparametersonthecontrol‐inputpagesdifferslightly
fromfunctionto
function,youcanexpecttosee someorallofthecommonDSPcontrol
parameterswheneveryouselectthecontrol‐inputpageforanyoftheDSPfunctions.

UnliketheotherfivecommonDSPparameters,thefunction‐parametersareaccessibleonboth
theDSPCTLpageandtheDSPMODpage.Theyarelistedalongtheleft‐handside
ofeachpage;
anychangesmadetothemononepagearereflectedintheother.Thelabelofeachfunction‐
parameterdependsonitsfunctioninthecurrentprogram’salgorithm.Forexample,thePitch
function’sfunction‐parameterislabeledPitch;whereasthetwo‐blockLopassfunction’s
function‐parametersare
labeledLPFrqandLPRes.
