Disconnect the canister control valve from the
harness. Measure the voltage between the two pins
with a multimeter. Is the voltage about 12V?
No 5 (check hot wire)
Yes Next step

Connect the canister control valve, increase the
engine rotation speed to 1500r/m, touch the valve with
your hand, and check the valve for slight vibration and
shock.
No 7 (check ground wire)
Yes Replace ECU

Measure the resistance between pin (1) and pin (2)
with a multimeter. Is the resistance between 22 and
30?
No Check canister control valve
Yes Repair or replace harness

Check for open or short circuit between pin J1-02 of
the main relay and the pin (1) of the canister control
valve with a multimeter.
No Next step
6 Repari or replace the main relay and its circuit.
Yes Repair or replace harness
7
Stop the engine. Check for open or short circuit
between pin J1-63 of the ECU and the pin (2) of the
canister control valve with a multimeter.
No Replace ECU
