16 Océ 9600 Copier/Printer User Manual
Océ 9600 users
On the O9600, the following user types can be identified:
System administrator
The Océ 9600 system administrator is responsible for
installing and configuring the Océ 9600 in his or her environment. He defines
the printer language settings, pen settings and Automatic Language Sensing
(ALS) settings. The system administrator can also provide assistance to normal
users who need to install the printer drivers on their workstations. See
chapter 7, ‘System status’ on page 105 for more information. Configuration
information can be found in the Océ 9600 Connectivity Manual provided with
the Océ 9600.
Key operator
The Océ 9600 key operator is responsible for daily maintenance
of the Océ 9600. The key operator replenishes toner when necessary, loads
media as needed and defines the default printer settings for recurring print jobs.
Also, the key operator defines all time settings, such as panel time out and
sleep mode time out. See chapter 10, ‘Key operator settings’ on page 129 for
more information.
Repro operator
The Océ 9600 repro operator is responsible for the daily
operations on the Océ 9600. The repro operator performs all job-related
activities on the system and is allowed to change the default settings for
job-related activities in the Settings Editor.
Anonymous user
Typically, an anonymous user on the Océ 9600 can be either
a PC user who has remote access to the system through one or more drivers
(Plot Director, Windows driver, AutoCAD ADI/HDI or PostScript), the remote
applications (Queue Manager, System Control Panel and Settings Editor), or a
user performing a copy job at the scanner.
