Maintenance of the reinforcement knives
Because the reinforcement unit knives get sticky from the glue on the
reinforcement tape, they have to be cleaned regularly. You are recommended
to clean the knives each time you have inserted a new tape roll (see ‘A new tape
roll’ on page 232) or when an error in the reinforcement unit has occurred.
When cleaning the reinforcement knives, place them in such a position that all
the parts that need to be cleaned are accessible.
Attention:
Use only the original Cleaner K and Fixing Unit Cleaning Oil
(silicon oil) from Océ, to avoid damage to the reinforcement unit.

Cleaning the reinforcement knives

Press the on line button on the printer operating panel to put the printer off line.
The ‘Off line’ message is displayed in the status window.

Press the left selection button to access the ‘Folding’ menu.
A shadow effect is used to indicate that this menu has been entered.

Select the ‘Clean knives’ option from the ‘Folding’ menu.
Then the reinforcement knives are placed in the correct position.
Note:
When a job is running, the ‘Job interrupted’ message appears. The
machine stops running after it has correctly finished the prints that were
already in the engine and the focus can be set to the Folding menu.
