7. Inspect the gears, thrust washers and differential case
for excessive wear or damage. Replace components
if needed.
Differential Assembly
1. Thoroughly clean the differential components prior to
reassembly.
2. Install the lower differential gear and thrust washer.
3. Install the side differential gears and thrust washers
and
slide the cross pin into position with the hole side
facing the hole in the differential case.
4. Install a new roll pin.
5. Install the upper differential gear and differential
co
ver. Apply Loctite® 271 to the cover screws and
to
rque the screws to specification.
6. Install the ring gear and torque the retaining bolts to
s
pecification.

Differential Cover Screws:
130-155 in-lbs (15-18 Nm)

Ring Gear Bolts:
70-80 ft-lbs (95-108 Nm)
