ENGINE COOLING SYSTEM
Cooling System Specifications
Recommended Coolant
Use only high quality antifre
eze/coolant mixed with
distilled water in a 50/50 or 60/40 ratio, depending on
freeze protection required in your area.
CAUTION: Using
tap water in the cooling system will lead
to a buildup of deposits which may restrict coolant flow and
reduce heat dissipation, resulting in possible engine
damage. Polaris Premium 60/40 Antifreeze/Coolant is
recommended for use in all cooling systems and comes
pre-mixed, ready to use.
Cooling System Pressure Test
1. Remove the hood from the front cab.
2. Remove pressure cap and pr
essure test the cooling
system using a commercially available tester.
3. The system must maintain 10 psi for five minutes. If
pres
sure loss is evident within five minutes, check
radiator, hoses, clamps and water pump seals.
Pressure Cap Test
1. Remove the front hood (see Warning under “Cooling
System Pressure Test”).
2. Remove pressure cap and test using a pressure cap
te
ster (commercially available).
3. The pressure cap relief pressure is 13 psi. Replace
cap if it
does not meet this specification.
