Gearcase Assembly
1. Replace all worn components.
2. If removed, install new bearing races using standard
b
earing installation tools and an arbor press.
NOTE: Grease all seals with Polaris All Season
Grea
se (PN 2871322) upon assembly.
3. Install new seals into the gearcase housing and
g
earcase cover using a standard seal installer or other
suitable method.
4. Apply a thin coat of case sealant (PN 2871557) to the
g
earcase mating surfaces upon cover installation.
5. Install a new pinion shaft seal using a standard seal
i
nstaller or other suitable method.
6. Install the original shim(s) previously removed onto
th
e appropriate sides of the differential assembly.
Install the bearings by hand as they are a slip-fit.
7. If previously removed; assembly the shift lever (A),
shif
t lever spring (B), shift return springs (C), shift yoke
(D), and lock pin bushing (E).
WARNING
Wear the appropriate safety equipment while
installing races to reduce the risk of injury.
