CHARGING SYSTEM
Stator
Refer to Engine Chapter – Stator Cover Removal /
Inspection, page 3.44 to service the stator.
NOTE: The stator cover can be removed with the
engine installed in the chassis.
Be sure to thoroughly clean the area around the
stator cover prior to removal.
Voltage Regulator
The regulator / rectifier
is located in front of the left
rear wheel. It is mounted behind the left panel divider.
NOTE: If the regulator / rectifier case temperature
exceeds 230° F or 110° C, the unit will turn itself off
to cool down. The unit will turn on again after it has
cooled down to at least 212° F or 100° C. If it turns
off, verify the cooling fins are clean, free from debris
and that adequate airflow is present.
