4.12.1 SELECTING THE SIO GROUP
To select the SIO group, press up or down on the GROUP switch one or more times until "SIO"
appears in the display. At this point each time the SET/NEXT switch is pressed down, the next SIO
function will be displayed. The four functions in the SIO group are:
1. BAUD
2. PAR
3. Lock
4. Univ
The BAUD and PAR functions each has an additional menu layer beneath them containing more
functions. BAUD and PAR may be thought of as subgroups within the SIO function group. The Lock
and Univ functions, on the other hand do not have additional menu layers beneath them.
4.12.2 SETTING BAUD RATE
To display and change the current remote port baud rate, proceed as follows:
1. Use the GROUP switch to display the SIO group.
2. Press down on the SET/NEXT switch to display BAUD.
3. Press up once on the SET/NEXT switch.
The display will now show "110," which is the first available baud rate (110 bps).
4. Press down on the SET/NEXT switch additional times to see the other available baud rates.
As the baud rate values are being displayed, the green part of the ON/OFF
indicator lights when the display shows the currently-set baud rate, and the red
part lights when the display shows any other baud rate.
5. To change the current baud rate, press down on the SET/NEXT switch until the display shows
the desired baud rate, and then press up twice on the SET/NEXT switch.
After the first press, the green part of the ON/OFF indicator flashes; this means
that a change is about to be made. After the second press, the green part lights
continuously; this means that the baud rate is now set to the displayed value.
The last function in the BAUD subgroup is exit. When the exit function is displayed, you can press up
on the SET/NEXT switch to leave the BAUD subgroup and display PAR, the next SIO function. To
exit the SIO group altogether, press up or down on the GROUP switch.
