23. On the DS-562NC check the setting of DIP switch SW6-6.
SW6-6 selects normal or inverted receive data out of the DS-562NC interface. OFF
(DOWN) sets normal polarity, ON (UP) sets inverted polarity. If the customer
equipment interfacing with the DS-562NC interface does not receive any data
correctly, the receive data out may have to be inverted. For the initial setup, set the
switch to the OFF position.
24. On the DS-562NC check the setting of DIP switch SW6-7.
SW6-7 selects normal or inverted transmit clock relative to the data into the DS-
562NC. OFF (DOWN) sets normal polarity, ON (UP) sets inverted polarity. If the
DS-562NC module does not reliably receive data from the customer equipment (or
from the local MA-427 I/O), the transmit clock may have to be inverted. For the
initial setup, set the switch to the OFF position. This feature is ONLY applicable to
RS-449 (MA-406IA), RS-530 (MA-406IB), X.21 (MA-410I), or V.35 (MA-409IA), or
LAN (MA-427/428). Note that the DS-562NC interfaces directly with the MA-
427/428 using RS-449 signals.
25. On the DS-562NC check the setting of DIP switch SW6-8.
SW6-8 selects normal or inverted transmit data into DS-562NC interface. OFF
(DOWN) sets normal polarity, ON (UP) sets inverted polarity. If the DS-562NC
module does not reliably receive data from the customer equipment, the transmit
clock may have to be inverted. For the initial setup, set the switch to the OFF
position.
26. Install the DS-562NC into the IMUX 2000 chassis and allow a few seconds for the board to
complete its power-up process.
27. Turn the DS-562NC’s service to ON by placing SW3-8 in the OFF (UP) position. Allow a
minimum of 16 seconds to ensure the common module has read all configuration data from the
module.
28. Verify performance of the module using appropriate test equipment and/or loop-back testing, as
required. Interface clocks versus data may also need to be verified, but this depends upon the
type of interface used with the DS-562NC. Perceived delays between DS-562NC and customer
equipment due to very high data rate selection, interface delays, and cable delays due to high-
capacitance, may require adjustment of clocks even though the cable pin-out is 100% correct.
29. When the configuration and performance of the DS-562NC has been verified, set the module to
remote mode (if required) by placing SW3-7 in the ON (DOWN) position.
